About Barre3
OUR STORY

barre3™
The 3 in barre3 symbolizes balance, a core value of our business, practice and life.  Our classes are designed to transform the body to one of equal balance, strength and flexibility. And, the company we are building is based on the notion that work is a balanced and integrated part of life.

History

barre3 is a revolutionary class that combines the grace of the ballet barre, the wisdom of yoga and the strength of Pilates. Set to music, this transformative 60-minute ballet barre workout improves balance, increases flexibility and enhances strength. Every second in this workout counts for fast body shaping results and long term postural benefits.

Created by fitness expert Sadie Lincoln, barre3 was borne out of her 20 years of teaching numerous exercise platforms.  Sadie created this transformative class by combining the best of ballet barre work, yoga and Pilates  into a unique sequence designed to balance the body.

The 3 in barre3 is a symbol of balance, our core essence. Balance in the body, in the mind and in life.

barre3 enthusiasts include yoga practitioners, pilates aficionados, dancers, athletes, or any beginners with a passion for good health. It is for men and women alike.

The barre3 exercise studio will soon open at The Spa Rockwell and The Spa Eastwood. For inquiries, please call 0918-8-THESPA or 631-5790.

Sadie Lincoln - barre3 Founder
Sadie Lincoln - barre3 Founder
Sadie brings more to her work than her extensive experience. She is a passionate instructor with a vision: to develop and support a family of studios run by entrepreneurs like herself.

Sadie spent 10 years at 24 Hour Fitness during a rapid global expansion, serving in a variety of roles, including running the group exercise program and developing global sales, marketing and brand communications strategy. Working directly with the founder and CEO, she helped grow the company into the largest chain of health clubs worldwide.

Sadie began teaching group exercise 20 years ago while attending UCLA. She was awarded a Graduate Assistantship from the College of William & Mary, where she developed and ran the group fitness program while earning her masters degree in higher education administration. In recent years, her personal yoga practice deepened leading her to develop BarWorks for YogaWorks.

Today Sadie is the founder of barre3 exercise studios where she creates classes inspired by three of her favorite disciplines: ballet barre work, yoga and Pilates. Sadie teaches at her flagship studios in Portland, Oregon and trains all barre3 instructors and studio owners worldwide.

A native of Eugene, Oregon, Sadie is thrilled to own her company in the Pacific Northwest while raising her two kids, alongside her husband and business partner.

Joie Viado- Instructor

Joie has been in the fitness industry for 20 years now. She started as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer. She finished Hotel and Restaurant Management in the University of Santo Tomas. But her love for human movement prevailed and so later on, she studied Physical Education in the University of the Philippines. Joie also holds international certifications. Besides this, she used to be a dancer, a sportsaerobics athlete, a powerlifter, a bodybuilder, and now, an ultramarathoner. She has also traveled the Philippines to impart her knowledge of exercise to other instructors outside Manila. She truly has deep passion for teaching and this is clearly manifested in her classes.

As years gone by, she developed an interest on mind and body exercise forms. She both liked yoga and pilates but it was pilates which made her appreciate the movements of the spine more. After being a pilates trainer for 3 years, she heard of another form of mind and body workout that is set to music. What was interesting to her was 3 exercise disciplines are blended into one. The grace of ballet with the wisdom of yoga and strength of pilates- what a powerful combination! Without any hesitation, she went to Portland with Ms. Tanya Tan to train for Barre3 under Sadie Lincoln herself.

Raising 2 very active boys, Joie understands the need for coping with the physical stresses of life. She loves the fact that barre3 teaches students find their correct posture and translate this into their everyday activities. For her, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the students marvel on the changes in their bodies not to mention discovering their own strengths.
